In the spirit of developing competition at the highest level within the series, race Directors of LA XC races should include a Pro Male and Pro Female category for registration. Pro and Cat 1s may be started together. It is generally accepted that pros race the same distance as Cat 1 19-29 and 30-39 racers.
Points for the championship series will continue to be tabulated separately between USAC Cat 1 and Pro license holders. A USAC license with an approved Pro category upgrade is required for all racers in the Pro category.
If you competed in the LA XC Series last year, most likely you have qualified (in the same category) to race in Nationals this summer in Sun Valley, Idaho, July 5-8. Winners will receive a Stars-And-Stripes jersey.
2012 LAXC Series standings have been posted. Please check'em out. Let us know of any errors or omissions in team names as this listing will also be used to calculate the Team Challenge.
If you were thinking about racing, come on out and join us for the series.
Don't worry about your bike or your fitness. Anyone with fat tires and a helmet can race in Category 3. If you can ride a lap or two at your local trail, then you can do it! Friendly people, riding fast, getting dirty. Come on out and join us!
The number of drop races in the 2012 series has been changed from one to two. Please note that this year, the minimum races needed to qualify for the championship still remains at four. Everyone please take a moment to review the rest of the series rules.
Due to an unavoidable work schedule conflict with the promoter/timer, the Piney Hills Classic has been moved from September 15-16 to the 22nd and 23rd of September 2012. We do regret any scheduling conflicts that this creates. Please take a note of the date and help us spread the word with an updated flyer.
